Certainly not a minting error. Post strike damage of an aggressive nature.

Quote: it appears that the edge has a large chunk out of it but if you look at the edge, the stamped lines are all still there which makes me think it was stamped that way? Just damage - as you can tell, your coin took a pretty good hit there and even pushed the metal back onto it's surface.

Yeah I figured it wasn't anything special, appreciate the timely replies and insight! Now my buddy that told me it was an error has a quarter he thinks is an error as well but it looks much different than mine, if possible I would like to get a definitive answer for him, If he would ever send me pictures of it, also, is the 1969 Lincoln Cent "No FG" legitimate or not because I've heard very different conflicting explanations about it, also the "Floating roof"
