I will start by stating this obvious. This is NOT my coin. I am curious as to how you all would grade it, though.

PCGS would likely give it AU Details Planchet Flaw, though personally I don't think planchet flaw should be a details grade

Looks like AU-55 sharpness, old cleaning but adequately retoned. Not sure if the planchet defect is bad enough to detail it.

Missing a star above the eagle's head - probably a gunk filled die.
Details happen after the coin was struck, therefore planchet flaw not a details. Same with the gunk filled die.

AU-50, (but cleaned some decades ago**).

** if details, this will be the reason.

A significant planchet flaw will result in a rejected grade by PCGS, but I think this one will pass.

Agree. I'll say AU-55 straight.

I will guess they straight graded it as an AU58. Clearly dipped with secondary toning it retains good eye appeal and because of what it is, a details grade would be a shock. The coin does not look MS to me.

Poor Liberty got a black eye. Upscale girls should stay away from the riff raff.
I say AU details. Looks like (old) cleaning center fields.

A lot of you nailed this one! PCGS straight graded it an AU(55). It is a beautiful coin with some nice retoning, but it has obviously been cleaned in the past. I was expecting it would be AU Details, but AU(55) is a wonderful grade for a wonderful coin!
