@tippy, in order for this to be a die event, there would need to be something in the die obscuring the flow of copper during the striking process. I suppose that is possible, but it wouldn't be grease since it is a nice clean edge. Rather I think you have incidental damage from circulation. I know that you have multiples that look similar, any chance of you creating a single image with each of the number 6s in question lined up and at the same magnification? I'm going to guess that they aren't actually identical, but nonetheless interested to see what you've got there. Thx.

Actually called a clipped 6...many many out there...yes a die error but thousands (I believe) are out. VV shows them when related to RPMs and DDs check the site out (VarietyVista.com) for that year (1956)
