This reeks of promoting a personal sale listing with very few posts - might be wrong, but just saying, without any explanation, etc, kinda looks suspicious...

I disagree. Actually- this one is quite scarce in mint state grades, and was recently added to PCGS Registry... for those of us who have been promoting varieties for years, it is nice to see.

@SPP-Ottawa, although I agree with your statement (I am also a fan of Can varieties), this initial post does not exude that, but rather seems to just channel views to a specific auction lot. I have seen interesting varieties, coins, etc., shared at live auction much more informatively and tastefully than this (hence my original reaction). A link is not sufficient if you really want to promote the importance of varieties beyond those who are already informed / looking for them.

I found this interesting. I've been aware of the to and between denticle but never knew of the large and small denticle. Born in 1948 I have a few of these cents.I'll have to find them and check for that variety.

Is the A to Small Denticle determined by the thickness of the denticles, or the length of the denticles?

I would say a bit of both. In small denticles it looks like the I of Gratia will fit in between the denticles. This is about as good a photo as you will get.
