I am very new to collecting or identifying.
I noticed something off on this quarter and am unable to find any similar anywhere on the internet. Maybe I found a rare error, or a new unknown error? Maybe something happened to the quarter and I don't know enough to identify damage?
I also do not know the terms or abbreviations.
On the backside, the ram side, the strike rim appears to be off center quite a bit. With the top right being rimless altogether near the word denali. The bottom left appears to be a much thicker rim. And following the rim around the quarter itself appears to taper on both sides.
On the heads side the rim tapers at the bottom right, which is where the backside taper is also located.
I also compared this quarter to a normal appearing one of the same and the difference is quite clear.
I weighed both this quarter and a similar.
Both weighed at 5.72 grams. (This tells me that there is no missing material from the coin itself)
I've attached photos of the back, front and side rim.
The photo of the side notches is the area in question and appears to be intact. Also telling me there is not missing material.
Any insight, advice or even a good place to research would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you!

to CCF. Might be a MAD=misaligned die or maybe a very minor off center strike?

Appears to be a minor case of misaligned die--not terribly rare. A major/dramatic misalignment (where lettering is truncated) would be collectable.

Thank you both very much!
Although it isn't a huge error, or worth alot of money, it's great to know I was able to pick out something special with my lack of knowledge. I will be securing this guy in the safe for now. Without your help, it would have gone back to the change jar. :)
