Someone on a post not that long ago mentioned the option of sending their coins to PCGS via a private courier. How does that work? I'm in Illinois and let's say I wanted to send a handful of coins to California to PCGS via private courier. What's the process? How is the chain of custody maintained or am I thinking to deep? I'm sure this delivery method would be expensive but if you have some really pricey coins it might be worth the peace of mind. Thanks in advance.

USPS Registered Mail Insured for full amount has worked just fine for me for over 25 years. It may be a little bit slow but it is safe and cost effective.

As with all private couriers read and understand the fine print in the user agreements BEFORE using their services.

Well you would have to locate a courier service, you would probably have to pay them starting from the time they leave their office to come get the package, pay them for all the time to get tot he TPG and back, plus either driving fees there and back or round trip air fare. And then do it all again for them to go pick it up and bring it back. Hourly fee would probably be $24 to $36 an hour.

Or for $100 or less you can fend a package insured for up to $50,000 by Registered mail.
