Looks to be sanded or ground down. Just damage, I'm afraid.

It has been flattened and slightly stretched with a heavy roller, during the flattening it also "scooted" causeing the scrape/abrasion on the obv side which was probably the face it was laying on.

All Post Strike Damage.
