Freed these from their tombs to send off. #1 what do you think they'll get (PCGS) and #2 should I try and get the dust off them and if so how?

I rinsed the Q in distilled water, worked out ok but it was my least favorite one.

The quarter and dollar look like 68s and the KHD is a 69

Considering you can buy one already slabbed for $89 on ebay. Why would you grade these? I agree with the PF68 (maybe 67 for the quarter) and PF 69 for 50 cent and dollar.

They are from my dad, he passed away last month. I know I spent more than they are worth, that's okay :).

Doesn't mean you need to get them graded. Keep them as is. I don't think they are worth to grade just my 2 cents.

Slab away, enjoy the hobby how you see fit, heirlooms are a great way to remember a lost loved one, I have coins my mother bought me as a child that I would never part with, and I've thought about preserving in slabs, though they are early ASE that have toned nicely over the last 33 years.

I love the idea of slabbing coins that mean something to you. Then nothing can happen to them. Grade-wise I think That Coin Dude has got it

A quick soak in acetone might help. Acetone evaporates quickly so it won't leave spots. Distilled water is better than tap, but it can still spot up. Pure acetone, not the stuff they use in nail polish remover.

Also have you considered ANACS. They are cheaper. Resale is less, but if you plan to keep these, no big deal. They will also conserve an entire batch of coins for one flat fee. $39. PCGS and NGC charge per coin. I have sent proof sets from the 60's to them. Had them conserved and it took off all that residue, cloudiness and spotting. Looked as shiny as the day they came from the mint. They have a special going on right now if you have more to submit. Minimum of 12 coins for the special.

If you have them conserved, don't bother with the acetone.
