I'll say MS-63, good shot at 64.

i think weak strike is misleading as actual circulation. even if these coins are in general circulation for a short period you will marks/scratches and abrasions of some type. I'm not seeing that so I'm going with MS64

Just trying to learn The series is very difficult to grade high AU vs MS from photo maybe because of the inverse design and luster does not often show on photo. The starting high points in the inverse are the tip of the eagles wing and the Indian head band, so a decision has to be made if there is circulation rub on the high points that would make the coin AU. The upper fields on the reverse are an area that will show circulation rub on a AU example, but sometimes the luster break from circulation rub can not be picked up on photo.

Quote: he starting high points in the inverse are the tip of the eagles wing and the Indian head band i'd like to add to sliders comment that these coins can have weak strikes and flatness in these areas can occur that look like wear which is what I think is going on here. this is where you need to rotate the coin to determine if the luster is still there. since the metal is so soft pretty much any circulation or even bumping against other coins will cause marks and scratches. I'm seeing very little of that here and thus I put it in the MS box. high AU gold is difficult to grade from a photo.
