This 1950's Proof Cent I missing something and after looking at over 100 coins that have sold in this year as well as Coin Facts, this seems to be the only one I have seen. After I have a few people that know what they are looking at I will state what's missing. The number of people that see it will determine if its anything.

Yep, and the Wheat ends are polished away, and it also has light polishing lines in the field under and by PULRIBUS. This is not grease filled.

Seems to be missing the last digit in the date.

Looks to be a die polishing issue. The letters are thinner and the right side of the wheat tip and the N in ONE is partially missing as well.

Quote: Looks to be a die polishing issue Indeed - Very much doubt it will add anything to the value of the proof cent

I just wondering, as a few Cent rarities and this includes Proofs that have had re engraved as well as polished away areas have been listed.
I am now on Page 9 of all the cents ever sold on Heritage, in this year I have not found one yet!

Coinfrog, you've been on a roll these last few days....bored? I think it's time for your family to get you a fresh head of lettuce to kick around the living room...

The black spots are called carbon spots. They get worse with time. No premium. More of a bad distraction that buyers should avoid.

That's nothing more than a reflection of the O's higher relief.
Has far as the polished away pellet or dot. I have now gone over every 1951 Proof cent in Heritage auction archives that over 750 coins that are of this year and all being Proofs. I did not find a specimen that is even close to this reverse. It may not be anything, but its not a common die state, and its not due to grease its an aggressive die refacing.
