I really love the beauty of these coins. I am not able to read the script except for the digits, but that doesn't take away the pleasure to look at these coins. Here are some examples of my favorites.
Safavid Tahmasp II - AR-Abbasi, Isfahan mint AH1144
Afsharids Nadir Shah - AR-Rupee, Tabriz mint AH1154
Qajar Nasir al-Din Shah - 1/8 Kran, Resht mint, AH1273
Qajar Mo#7717;ammad Qajar - AR-Qiran, Teherqn mint AH1263
Very nice examples @maudry. By allowing the script to have multiple positions with respect to the remaining parts, the Arabic calligraphy can be quite beautiful. Of course the lion holding the sword is a neat design feature.
"If you climb a good tree, you get a push." -----Ghanaian proverb
"The danger we all now face is distinguishing between what is authentic and what is performed." -----King Adz
