@coinfrog ah its worth more than face, 25 cents minimum cuz of condition and find the right buyer even 1$, I sold a 2005 d nickel ocean views same toning today for 20$ so chances are I can sell this one for 1$ &  |

Well there are coin collectors out there that will pay a large premium over face value for a toned coin. See it all the time on ebay. And @Rigs, if you give your nickel a soak in acetone it may take that crud spot off of the reverse of your nickel. Can't really tell what it is from the pictures though. |

Not seeing a DDO on the neck. I do see what appears to be a hit on the neck. Closer-in, high resolution photo might help. Modest toning--I do like toning. Unfortunate stain on the reverse. Value? In my opinion, 5 cents--maybe 50 cents for someone who likes nickel toning and can live with the stain. |

What you do appear to have is a slightly off center strike, not a MAD strike, because you can see the differences in the same location on the rims of the obverse and reverse....unless the camera is playing tricks. If it was a MAD it would be normal on one side and off center on the other.

An off center strike would necessarily be struck out of collar, which this coin is not. What you're seeing could be a Rim Fin, but it is possible for there to be dual misalignment of the dies. The reverse looks properly aligned to me though. Edited by Adam_E
