I like them as well. Easier for older eyes to see.

This one made me smile. I really like it. I had to deal w/some Bald Faced hornet nests like this one year at a camp I was running. This species is vicious even for hornets. The buggers enjoyed stinging my little campers even for just running by in the playground that was 15 feet away from their nest.

The hornet's abode was introduced to Mr. Petroleum and Mr. Ohio BlueTip (dating myself).

Campers were not stung anymore. So my horrible and vicious actions as an uncaring human against the poor little camper-stinging critters (and the natural environment) was verifiable in my eyes and the eyes of the parents.

Kinda' fun too. A big Whooomph and it was pretty much over!

That's a real great story Earle! I've had my fair share of annoyance with such creatures. They sure seem to hate me. One time I was minding my own business, sitting on one of the front door steps. When all the sudden one of those buggers lands on my leg. I don't move at all but nevertheless, it decided to sting me.

Haha well, fire is certainly a creative way to deal with them!

Sounds like a good time! Thanks for sharing!
