From CRH. Struck Through Grease (Rev) with dropped letter(s)? Gouge depression under "T" looks like a swiss army knife of "T" bars to me.

That's a pretty common area on Lincoln Memorial cents to have weak letters. As far as a dropped letter, it's just too hard to tell what's going on there from the pictures. It kinda has the same shape as the top of that T

Thanks for having a look Rothery. I know the grease is common, I'm just trying to figure out what was maybe struck in the grease. Its not easy to capture a good photo but I've added another here. Looks like something interesting but still not sure.

Yes, I think you have a Greaser here, with some sort of bad stain, probably caused from environmental conditions. Dropped letter? Not convinced, but you know, sometimes too much magnification can prevent you for seeing more obvious things. Can you give us both an obverse and reverse overall photo? I see the "swiss army knife" mark, I just cannot see what it might be.

Hard to say from those photos but it is not a dropped "T".
The angle at the top of the T is running towards the stem instead of away from it.

I'll try uploading those photos later Merclover.

JimmyD, what if this filling had flipped over, then this angle would be right? I'm not convinced it's a "T" but the proximity to the real "T" and the fact that the real "T" has die damage on the top bar has me curious.

Flipping it over would not make any difference. You can't change the angle, it will always be running away from the stem.

Correct typo

Not very precise but Ive added lines showing what I think matches curve on the bottom of the bar on "T". The blue line represents where the stem would be.

Dropped letters would be incuse, not raised.

Coop, The marks are definitely incuse. That last photo with the color lines I drew has negative lighting creating the raised look.

Doing a little research on possible explanations on Error-Ref. I believe this could be related to a "Grease-mediated radial smear" (with a struck through bulging die filling?). The smear seems to flow toward the rim as described. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.

The defect is too small and too subtle to determine what it might represent. It's not grease-mediated radial smear.
