I needed to go to the bank yesterday and decided to get a £250 bag of 50p coins to sort through. Nothing spectacular, but quite fun. The best find was a 2011 Gymnastics 50p in AU. I also got a really nice 2015 Battle of Britain coin that looked as if it had just come out of the Mint. But I didn't get a single Brexit or Diversity 50p!
Here's a full rundown. 1997 179 1998 23 1999 11 2000 10 2001 35 2002 12 2003 6 2004 15 2005 10 2006 9 2007 4 2008 Britannia 1 2008 shield 11 2012 29 2013 14 2014 22 2015 Rank-Broadley 9 2015 Jody Clark 18 2017 0 2019 55 2000 Libraries 1 2004 Bannister 1 2005 Dictionary 3 2006 VC Medal 1 2007 Scouts 2 2011 Olympics 1 2013 Britten 1 2014 Com Games 1 2015 Battle Br. 2 2017 Benjamin 6 2017 Jeremy 1 2017 Peter 4 2019 Paddington Tower 1 2019 Paddington St Pauls 1 1997 Guernsey 1 TOTAL 500

The Diversity one is certainly around in some numbers - I haven't really handled much change since lockdown, but got one from the newsagents last week. Surprised to see no Sherlock in your list - I seem to get those all the time. I got the Dickens £2 coin in change today - not scarce but a while since I have seen one. (I have all the circulation and most of the packet only £2s and 50ps already, so finding them now is just idle curiosity!)

I've found more Sherlock Holmes coins altogether since 2019 than Paddington at the Tower ones. I got a 2014 Trinity House £2 coin in change yesterday - my first commemorative £2 for a while.

Pardon my ignorance as an American, but why is there nothing older than 1997? It appears to me that there hasn't been a change in composition since 1969.
Edit: Never mind, I answered my own question. Looks like the size was changed.

Quote: Looks like the size was changed. That's correct. The original larger 50p was replaced by a smaller coin in 1997.

That is great, quite a good mix there and see you have got a 2008 Britannia, those are quite scarce apparently. Interesting too just how many of the 1997's are still in circulation, that was a huge mintage for that year.
No Kew Gardens though (Joke)
There is a guy on Youtube called Coin Patrol who does regular buy ins to get coins for his collection and he always finds too many Benjamin Bunnies, which makes me laugh.

Diversity coins are a mystery for me. I haven't got a single one in my coin hunts and I usually get £500 from the bank! A couple of the guys I know online have received an entire bag of diversity coins. Maybe it was released in specific areas? Ended up buying a pack of 20 diversity coins at slightly higher than face value from someone willing to share the loot :)

I have had 3 or 4 Diversity 50ps in change here. They don't seem that rare - on ebay there are dozens for sale from £50 down to 50p each (plus postage) and even at 50p unsold!

Got 500 50p coins from the bank yesterday. Here is the result:
Definitive coins: 1997 176 1998 23 1999 10 2000 10 2001 41 2002 5 2003 12 2004 16 2005 6 2006 14 2007 11 2008 Britannia 1 2008 Shield 16 2012 26 2013 8 2014 31 2015 Rank-Broadley 23 2015 Jody Clark 31 2017 1 2019 15
Commemorative coins: 2000 Libraries 2 2004 Roger Bannister 2 2005 Dictionary 1 2006 VC Medal 2 2007 Scouts 1 2013 Ironside 1 2013 Benjamin Britten 1 2014 Games 1 2015 Battle of Britain 1 2017 Benjamin Bunny 5 2017 Tom Kitten 1 2017 Tale of Peter Rabbit 2 2018 Paddington at Palace 1 2018 Representation of People 3
I'm pretty sure these coins had all been quite recently paid in, as the bag had been stamped by the branch where I got it, and only a few days earlier. It seems quite a random selection with about the normal ratio of commemorative to definitive coins. No 2019 commemoratives showed up and no 2020 coins of any type. Altogether now I've found 5 Brexit coins in circulation but still no Diversities.
