It is a super cent. I guess I am not very good at grading Lincolns but I think the coin is over-graded. "DUCKS"

Truthfully wouldn't the hit on the "E" in America,United, and CENT, the chunk out of the neck below the ear, the rub on the jacket collar, the wavy wheat(like it's been rubbed) on the right side top, smashed looking wheat in the middle on the left side, and the chatter across the forehead lessen it's grade if it was sent in today say maybe a MS68?

It doesn't look RED to me as much as it doesRED/Brown. Does anyone else see what I am talking about or is it just my eyes playing tricks on me?

I think some of what you're describing may be on the slab. When magnified 20X a lot shows up that doesn't during grading. This coin should receive a 69RD again if re-graded.

that PCGS link....Unbelieveable!!
I have always been of the opinion that the Lincoln Cent, in it's simplicity, is one of the most attractive of US coin designs. No taking any credit away from the beauty of the Bust coinage, and of course the fantastic and stunning St Gaudens designs, the Lincoln Cent has always been my personal favorite.

I think that's probably pretty close to the truth. It is a fine example of what one can do with nearly unlimited funds. It's a sad fact us poor collectors have to live with...a lot of these guys use coins as an investment and not much more. They don't have the passion we have. Hell, I get excited finding a 1970's BU Lincoln. LOLOLOLOLOL

I'd much rather have it our way. I mean, i'd love to have a set like those on PCGS, but what fun is that. A set like those need to be stored in a high security bank or something. Its about the small things in life, so the 70's BU finds are great :) Besides, who has a few hundred thousand dollars just sitting around :)
