Stewart Blay's collection of Lincoln cents falls into the "priceless" category to me. Many of these Lincoln's are $100K+. He's got 2 1914-Ds in MS66RD. A $300K pair!

I actually held that coin once....and it does look as nice in person as it does in images. It's a flawless coin, I spent ten minutes with it and a loupe mulling it over. It's a really beautiful coin that somehow escaped any marks for all these years. Fascinating to look at.

I've been around the block a few hundred times. 25 years of study, contributor to a few books, wrote a book myself, taught a few classes, wrote a few websites... The same guy has one of the two known 1958DDO cents (and I held that one). I also held his MS65RD PCGS 1969S DDO cent....and his PCGS MS67RD 1972 DDO cent, which is VEDS "proof-like" It must have been one of the first thousand coins struck by that die. Needle sharp details. |
