I believe what you have is called a " Dryer Coin". Can you give us a weight, please?

I don't have a scale so I can't give a weight. Is this dime worth holding on to?

A Dryer Coin is post-mint damage, making it worth 10c but it wont fit in a coin slot...

Worth hanging onto for the novelty but that's about it, never found a Dryer Coin myself

I would hold onto it for the novelty.

Spooned or Dryer Coin. I've come across a couple dozen of these over the years--cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters.

Not a Dryer Coin and not spooned. It was rolled and squeezed in the horizontal plane by a hand-held or motor-driven mechanical device. A common alteration.
