$72.18 at the hammer. Looking forward to opening these have seen rolls of nearly every year from 1937 - present some were high premium some low but this is the first roll of 54 P's I have encountered. Am lead me to believe seller has the authentic goods, time will tell. Have opened rolls from 1950's that occasionally had the year before sprinkled in. Hope these are all 1954's will post pics if there are any Blazers in the roll. Typical 1954 weak strike on the end coin, the other end is plugged.

The end of that roll looks like it's been tampered with.

I don't trust these kind of rolls enough to buy them. Why would the wrapper be stamped with the date? It always seems to me that it's something done well after the fact to make it "look" like it was done at the time the roll was crimped. I don't see any modern rolls with 2021 stamps.

Very few "OBW" are actually OBW, especially on the Bay (I'm assuming that's where this is from). Loose ends are a pretty good indicator that it's been re-rolled. Regardless, hope you find something worthwhile inside!

I agree, high potentialities rolls on ebay are not unopened bank or treasury rolls but occasionally they do appear. Have purchased enough rolls over counter, private sellers, and from coin shops to get a journeymans knack of these old rolls. Their out there and after 50 - 60 years some become dumpy or loose but identifying true OBW's is not a complex difficult task overal. If in hand I have any doubts then back they go.

Yes , good luck with that roll . Devious sellers have been known to rough up the ends of the paper wrappers with sand paper to make them look old . As far as the date stamped on the roll , the original person that first bought the roll could have stamped that roll himself for easy ID .

Will post picks if roll passes initial scrutiny. The seller has been listing OBW rolls of cents, nickeLos, merc dime and Franklin halfs that are being very competitively bid for. I went back as far as I could go on his listings found zero comments neutral or negative all sells have shown from $35.00 - $1,500.00 with positive comments. All of that is moot until I look at roll. Would be nice to see some MS65's in the middle. Shortly will definitely find out. If anyones curious ebay seller is tomhugre he has quite a variety of rolls.

I'm always skeptical, I'm from New York. If you or I got our hands on these types of "unopened" rolls, would we be selling them on ebay? I don't think so.........just saying. I'm just wondering and thinking out loud here. Would an ender in and unopened roll have this much (what appears to be) circulation chatter? Whatever the case, best of luck!

Bag marks, conceivably, or a bit of scuffing. This coin is uncirculated.
