This coin was a gift from another CCF member, and HUGE thanks for the coin. Hopefully I'll be able to find one at some point and return the favor as I know this was his only one.

Having poured over roll after roll of 1974-d looking for one of these, I now have one in hand and realize I was looking too hard. The doubling is extremely strong, and unlikely to be missed even if just skimming the coins with a loupe. So I feel good that I didn't miss one along the way, and that if another one comes my way I'll be able to easily spot it.

Down to about 8 or so more to complete the die 1 set.

Thanks for posting TB. So this is MDS because of that die dent above "E" in America?

Yes, it is VV stage-B (MDS) and the marker for that stage is the gouge above the E of AMERICA. This is only listed in the descriptions as there is apparently no plate coin for this die stage.

Your full coin shots are helpful to see what you're talking about with the doubling. The doubling is very apparent. Thanks for posting and to the member who gave this to you. You've helped a lot of people with this gift.
