I have 22 1897's and every single one ihas repunched C's in Canada. Some are triple punched and some double. It's strange that every single one I have has been R/P'd ... on the 1896, it must have knocked off the serif on the hub for Canada, so ALL of the dies would be repunched to some extent. I never noticed before.

! I just now looked at 39 1896's and 19 1895's and every C has been repunched, just like the 1897's. Some are double-punched and still a few triple punched. The knocking off of the top serif of the C must have happened on the hub during the 1894 striking year, but I don't feel like bending back over my desk to check the 1894's out. Maybe some other time for the '94's.

Forget everything that I have spouted in the previous 3 posts. I just went back and looked at 1894's, 93's, 92's and back to '91. Every C in Canada has been repunched, even though Wyon has gone from Obv 2 to Obv 3 to Obv 4. Maybe he just wanted to modify the monarch portrait, but he didn't clean up the C in Canada. Now I know for sure that I'm not going to look any more. Again, most are DP'd but some nicely offset triple punched.

One of you other Vicky variety collectors can go further back to find out where it started, and my fused up spine said it wouldn't take it any more, but I went ahead and said "screw the back" and went all the way back. I almost fell over when I saw that it went all the way back to the beginning with the 1876's .... go figure! Who would have guessed? And Rocky, you showed me something today with the "C" that just whistled past me before and I never even bothered to look where it started.... thanks

Rocky, there are a couple of different repunched 7's in that year. 1887 has more repunches on the 7 than 1897. It's nice to see you taking a close look at the anomalies on the Vickies. There are lots to look at, especially in the earlier years.

I like the Vickie's. but I need to stay out of them. once I would start I never leave them alone. you guys have given them the best treatment. the work you guys has done on the Vickie's. I am very sure there is nothing new out there. you all have a great one

I had to take a break from stacking. okiecoiner could a leaf flip. take a close look at the end of the leaf stem. where it attaches to the vine. it matches the vine that's impossible. I like to know your thoughts. thank you so much for sharing.

Rocky ... I really don't understand what you are saying and I have no idea what the photos are trying to display. Striking coins is a mechanical process that spews out thousands, if not millions of examples. Whether it is nails or pins or washers or coins, no 2 of any of them are going to be identical under 40X or 60X or 100X magnification.
