so I have a 1997 P dime that I found interesting and I could use some input, wexlers had no listing of this year so its up to the knowing eyes of the community to help me out
Look at the third picture, on the right leaves on the top edge is where I am seeing what could be doubling of either machine or die

so the second of the cropped images is just on odd dip of some sort but the third is a different dime all together added to show the space the olive leaves usually have, sorry for the lighting/lack of arrows or circles but ill work on getting the right programs asap.
thanks in advance for any input

Ok.... I am just now editing my reply....LOL.... After reading the title of your post (been a long day). I don't see anything abnormal with any of the pics you posted. Other than Post Mint Damage ( PMD) and normal wear and tear such as dings, knicks and scratches, it looks like a normal circulated dime. I believe it is more of a Die Deterioration issue with anything else you are seeing on this coin and possibly some MD to throw in as well.

So the first two pictures are just to show you the coin I wanted to show, the third picture is the one I want you to look at closely, the olive leaves on the right, highest on the torch, notice the top edge and you can see what I'm looking at

I see what you are talking about. I would have to say this is DDD and the result of an overly used die.

DDD means Die Deterioration Doubling. On the left side of this forum screen is a glossary of terms. I'm sure that it's in there. Also, just Google the term and it will show you numerous examples of this subject. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
