Hi all. It's been awhile since I have posted here but I have been lurking occasionally. I just have not got any new things to talk about until recently.

In the last couple months I have kind of gone crazy. I have just about doubled the size of my World Silver collection and you are free to check it out in my album but those don't really belong in this thread.

I also have not been able to find anything for my Roman Imperial collection as the emperors I need are all rare and really expensive now.

However, I did make some new additions to my "Notable Historical Figures" collection that may be of interest. I am just going to post links to the album pages because for some reason the IMG embed codes are no longer working for me on this forum. (If anyone might know why let me know).

Anyway, here they are. These are 4 that I have really wanted for this collection for some time.

Scipio Africanus

Julius Caesar
AR Denarius
(this is my second coin of him. I have a different one in my Roman collection)

Cnut
AR Penny
http://www.coincommunity.org/galler...p?pos=-57210

Saladin
AR 1/2 Dirham

I hope you all are doing well.

@marti, that is an impressive group of coins, but the medieval penny is absolutely cnut-iful.

Thanks everybody.

@Spence, you are right. The Cnut really is a gem and something I have been after for many years. It is the single most expensive coin I have ever bought. Even edging out the gold solidus in my roman collection. Worth every "penny" though I think. :)

Coins are the hardware documents of history.
Possible to make a book with a page of history relating to each coin that you have, and illustrate each page with the actual coin. Use a ring binder, to add each new page.
I have seen this done with museum displays.
