The error this is most reminiscent of is a broadstrike, but I don't believe that to be the case since the coin doesn't look any wider than normal. You can compare the diameter to a normal nickel to be sure.
Flattening of the rims into the legend can occur from extensive wear. Given the relative lack of wear elsewhere on the coin, though, I'd say it's abrasion.
