Well first off, the die was way over polished. Note that Liberty devices don't even appear near the head. Second, there was an issue with grease and grit and possible fiber mixed into the glop that you coin was struck through. Pretty much just a spender coin. If the coin was BU, it would have a lot more value, not for the events that happened to it, but on the BU coins of 1982,83 there were no mint sets (both together) those years. If you wanted a mint set, from each you have to travel to there to get one from each mint. (With that mints set) But it is a spender now.

Interesting! I like both the effects of the aggressive die polishing and the strike through. I have several over polished Kennedy halves that have a "Halo" look to the bust. I don't see it as very valuable, but I don't see it as a spender either.

This is an excellent educational coin! I'd keep it as such and would love to have this one in my collection.
