I recently came across a pair of Denver Minted half dollars that are gold in color. I weighed them and they appear to be in line with the weight of other halves at 11.22 Grams for the first one and 11.4 grams for the one with gunk on it. After some research, it seems like they are insignificant but I wanted to check here to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks in advance.

These were plated by a private company and sold for the Bicentennial. They did tons of these!

Good instinct.
These coins were both gold plated after leaving the mint. They're not worth more than face, but I kind of enjoy finding them as a novelty.

A fun find, even if only worth face value. The gunk might come off in an acetone bath (be careful with fumes).
