I came across this 1974 nickel with some pretty wild
Machine Doubling on the obverse and thought I would share.
I know
Machine Doubling is super common, but I don't think very many people have seen
Machine Doubling do this before.
By the looks of it, the obverse die shifted on its way back up quite a bit and sliced across the top of the "R" making it look like a completely separate "R" slightly below it.
The rest of the obverse side has the expected signs of severe
Machine Doubling like the queen's forehead, crown, etc going in the same direction as the MD that affected the "R".
