Might want to run the coin through acetone or 70%+ isopropyl alcohol before popping that crud off. Just a quick dunk.

The detail isn't sharp enough to tell for certain, but your 42 S could be a S/S/S variety.

@biker, consider picking up a cheap ($20) USB camera--you should get much better detail on close-up pics than with your phone.

Lots of good ideas. I am curious about the cleaning recommendations here. Is there a good guide, perhaps in CCF, about safely cleaning coins in ways that will not ruin/devalue them? Thanks in advance.
