Thanx for just being honest.

MrThom, you have posted several Lincoln cents now and I'd like to suggest that you invest in an inexpensive pair of white gloves to protect your coins (found wherever you buy hobby supplies). I have noticed fingerprints on all your cents. Oils from your skin can really destroy numismatic values. Just trying to help.

100 % agree with merclover. The worst thing for a coin it is the finger print which it is a irreversible damage. Example: A leaver problems will make the silver have very black oxidation. the cupper will shoe the printer finger like the police investigations powder show them, etc.

Maybe we have to create here on the site a page with the wright manipulation of the numismatic items like it is the numismatic glossary.

I have 'it in my hand to buy an 50 cents 1931 Canada easy MS63-65 with 500$. I refuse for finger prints. The human skin secretions have very hard acids, bases and oils.

Sorry, maybe too high chemistry in my post, not to offence anyone.

Silvio

On the matter of the coin being 'double struck', I'm not immediately seeing anything--highly reflective surfaces can pose problems in distinguishing what's what. Please indicate where you see doubling. Nice coin.

Business strike coins are only struck once. Sometimes there is a double strike, but the devices would still be present on the whole coin, both sides if this happens. Not just a single area affected.

You can see that if something was doubled, then all things would be doubled. On your coin the one area maybe a die gouge. (no premium for this though)

With the blue dots on the photos, I'm seeing light circulation dings/hits.
