The easiest way is to put together sets by date and mintmark by saving the best specimen of each coin in a folder.
You'll quickly learn what each date is supposed to look like and learn about the anomalies from varieties and errors to "
Dryer Coins".
The set will also become a great reference collection when you need a coin with which to compare a new one and can become a source of pride in itself.
Only you decide what constitutes the best specimen. I like well made coins with little wear and no marking but it's each their own.
These sets are mostly very inexpensive though the states and parks issues are $25 each. The one cent set costs less than a folder to hold them.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
