Going through my Dads stash of coins. Is this a no FG or is it just faded?
Trying to do my best with macro photos. Thank you in advance!

Been removed by die polishing. Not uncommon on Memorial cents

Most likely, but might be a grease-fill issue.

Thank you! How do you know the difference between that common occurrence and the real thing that is noted in PCGS ?

They listed this for a very short time, then now no longer list these as they are common. (I know someone who had the first batch slabbed, and the second time they no longer listed this. Still on PCGS.

More food for thought, in a slabbed PCGS MS65RD grade.

HA Auction Feb-2017
Grade MS65RD
Sale Price $505.25

Note if mint mark location(s) is taken into account, more than one obverse die qualified as a No FG FS-901 back in the day. Thanks, Doug.
