I already put it in a flip, but these pictures might show the imperfections better. Little scuffage on the cheek but it has nice luster.

Hair over Lib's ear slightly weak at that point, but I think it is due to a slightly weak strike. Hard to tell from the picture, but I think that the luster is undisturbed over Lib's ear.

Slight scuffing of luster on Lib's cheek, and in the field in front of Her nose.

Slight variation of the toning doesn't really detract from eye appeal.

MS-65.

I'll say MS-63, long shot at 64.

MS63. the 87(P) are common. the coin would need to grade MS66 to be worth slabbing

I'd say MS-63.

63/64 The cheek and field marks in front of nose and mouth will keep it out of a 65 holder.

Ahhh, that's why I'm asking. If I were to go based on what Coinfacts shows I'd go 65 because the luster is all in tact.
It seems like the way grade is not only how many dings a coin has but a balance between that and the amount of luster is preserved. The luster on this piece is gorgeous, but I guess it all depends on who's grading the coin!
Rest in Peace

I think it might just squeak into 64. Certainly not worth TPG grading.

I would also go MS-63 and would not suggest slabbing. In the meantime, flatten those staples with a pair of pliers!

I think the obverse field marks are deep enough to hold this to MS-63.
