This coin is not in the best of shape, but this has always been one of my favorite Retained Cuds. Found in a bag o wheats.

I think that is a fine-looking coin! I like worn coins, it makes me wonder about all of the people that have handled it, what they spent it on... what their life was like.

Probably the first reverse Cud, on a Wheat cent I've seen. Most of the time, the Retained Cud is held in place with the collar and doesn't fall off.

I find it interesting that it was able to circulate so long with a pretty sizeable Cud. Great find!

i enjoy coins - with some age characteristics that give it some respecrfullness.

wouldn't it be cool - if a coin could tell us - its life story?
