Yours appears to have taken a hit in the same place the pics of the 006 show a flattened area, but there are no remnants of an underlying D in your pic. http://varietyvista.com/09b%20WQ%20...4DRPM006.htmLook inside the D's loop in the pics at the link to see the underlying D's edges showing.

"D" doesn't seem to be in the proper location for an 006 either. Still a nice silver quarter.

Earle, I feel like you knew I was looking at that notch in the middle, but that makes more sense looking at the inside on the D. I let that doubling on the outside mislead me, but now I'm thinking that's DDD.

Not a RPM or DDD. Minor MD/and a hit? John1

John, how can you tell the difference? What are some things you look at?

It's hard to tell because your pics are kind of fuzzy and you csnt really make out the finer details like smaller die markers but there is a DDO and DDR for this year with the the same die marker. A crack running through the eagles beak. They are only minor doubled dies but a DD is a DD in my book. There are smaller die markers you can look for to determine if it actually is one. Either way, silver is always a nice find.
