Are lathe rings more prominent on the 1996 D Lincoln Memorial cent?

Good question @dur. We don't see enough of these for me to have formed an opinion about whether one particular year has more of them or not. Maybe someone else has thought about it though?

Spence, I've seen 5 posts about the '96 D w/lathe rings on the CCF search engine and also on Variety Vista. That's why I asked.

Ok well maybe you are onto something. How does that compare to the number of hits from nearby years?

I would agree that 1996-D is the most common year for lathe rings.
