Hi,
So I just cracked this one out of a Bicentennial 3pcs set.
I know little about this serie and overall coins in the higher MS-grades but I think the obverse looks really good.

The reverse has some contactmarks at about 14:30 but the main issue are the white scratchlike "toning". Could this be a result of beeing stored in the setplastic for over 45 years?
If so, would an acetonebath help to remove it?

Even if I somehow got the "scratchtoning" removed I guess the coin might be a grade short to justify a TPG grading cost?

Guessing this would not be a candidate for grading.

You many want to look to see if any varieties or errors exist to make the coin possibly more valuable. If so, from what I hear, ANACS would be the cheapest TPG for this sort of evaluation. For what it's worth....

Stay well,

Acetone (100% pure) won't hurt it any. Are you sure it is 40% silver?

Well I can't say for sure but it was in a 3 pcs set in a Red envelope saying United States Bicentennial Silver Uncirculated Set 1776-1976.

Won't do a ringtest but the edges look like silver

These are currently not worth much. If you want one slabbed you can pick up the 3 for under $50. Its cheaper that way :)
