The online PM dealer I typically use is charging spot + $8.99 for a 2020 ASE "on sale" and spot + $11.49 for a 2021. I realize the market is crazy hot for PMs at the moment and premiums are up across the board but that's just stupid. I'll wait until premiums come back down out of the stratosphere before filling my 2021 CAPS hole. Anyone have a bead on them cheaper elsewhere?

This high premium seems everywhere, including Ottawa Canada where I live. here the suppliers simply can't get them in any numbers, so the speculation here is that insane demand= insane premiums.

Mind you, junk silver is NOT selling at a special premium.

Buy silver rounds instead - premiums lower, and much more varied designs.

90 is NOT flying out the door here in my shop; right now. Rounds don't do as well as they should. Most people see an ASE and "know" it is the "real deal'. I think that somewhere soon the pure number of Chinese fakes coming through will make no coin an automatic "safe haven' for stackers.

Goldeneagle $ 11.00 USD over spot on small quantities . Yup utter insanity ! I thought Gatewest @ $5.00 USD over spot for 2021 Maples was bad ! The disconnect between spot and physical is nuts! I guess the 1000 Maples I bought at $29.00 USD on New Years eve was pure genius .....or massive Luck .

Now here's a question, is it an insane premium, or fair market value since evidently people are willing to pay it?

Indeed ...an insane Premium that people are currently willing to pay. Sort of the same as the Housing market in both Canada and parts of the USA. All of it due to very low artificial cheap money . Be careful all the warning signs are there for a huge crash sooner or later , I'm betting sooner . An early indicator the USD is dropping like a stone in the past two months .

Quote: Buy silver rounds instead - premiums lower, and much more varied designs. I generally do not buy ASEs for stacking (used to, several years ago, until I wised up that there are better stacking options when it comes to premiums. Quote:Most people see an ASE and "know" it is the "real deal'. True, and part of what drives the premium so high relative to other options. Even 10-oz bars, typically one of the best values when it comes to premiums, are (spot + $4.49)/oz. While that's much better than spot + $11.49, it's still very high. I'll wait.

The ASE Is a beautiful bullion piece ; but it's all cosmetics that some guys are going crazy over . Go ahead and spend $40-$45 for one then turn around and try to sell it to a '' We Buy Gold and Silver shop '' or LCS . You will walk out of there like this :

I bought a 2021 ASE for way over spot, only because I wanted it for my set. Since I'm not planning on selling, no harm done.
