Hello -

I found this 1967 penny while coin roll hunting. It has a VERY shiny field and is in very good condition for its age. Although, I'm reading that there were no proofs made in this year. Thoughts on this one?

Thank You!!

Thank You Very Much! I think I found two of these actually! I didn't know that SMS sets existed until now. I may have to have these graded!

I will side with T-BOP in that the 1967 is a business strike. And the 1968 S is definitely a business strike as there were not any SMS in 1968 that I am aware of. As far as grading goes, as nice as they may seem, I see too many flaws on both of your coins in the way of dings and dents in the focal areas. In my opinion it would not benefit you to have these graded. It would cost more than what they are worth. Hate to be a "downer" but I'd hate it more if you spent the money for grading only to realize your cost exceeded the value of the coins. I'm no expert, just my Two Cents worth (no pun intended......lol). WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!

Nice coins, very good hole fillers. Wouldn't suggest submitting them to a TPG. A little late, but photos of the reverse might be interesting to see.

They are little extra value, to spend big money to have them graded. Sometimes as much a $50 per coin. So you need to make sure they are Worth in the $150 range, to put out that kind of money. Sure some coins are a nice value for a high grade coin, but the prices drop a lot on some coins.

Darn it! Ok - one of these days I'm going to find a rare one. I'm sorry- the later pic must have been my kitchen light hitting the folds in the image. There are no gash marks - lol! I'm
