I know, I took 100 random quarters and checked them and that was the number out of 100 that had the MD. These devices are incuse in the design. When the MD happens it enlarges the incuse strike. (On the die, to make an incuse mark on a coin, it has to be raised on the die. All the raised devices on the are incuse on the die) Also the DDR's on these single squeeze dies have the doubled dies in the center of the design on the coin. Obverse and reverse.
