Nothing of value here (I dont think) but more of a curiosity....any idea why the VA State is stamped on this 1975 Lincoln Cent?

I've got a whole set just like this. Uncirculated, shiny pennies worth nothing because some "mint" decided to stamp a map of each State and their initials in them.

Always reminds me of the curious fact that Virginia extends further west than West Virginia!

West Virginia, the land where people told Virginia they were leaving and Virginia just said "OK, bye"

Nothing against the Mountaineer State, just joking around.

Thanks for the info on the coin!

Another counterstamped States Quarter. Have been seeing alot of them lately being found and posted. Just found an Indiana one the other day while roll searching. Times must be getting tough now and people are cashing in their United States Counterstamped cent collections......
