Got a $500 box of Kennedy half dollars from the bank and I havent delt with improper annealed coins, so I'm still blind to it. Nothing seems wrong with the coin except this coloring. Looks like it was thrown in a camp fire but the reeds look perfect and detail in the coin looks fine. Looked pictures up and seems like a few I saw. Thanks.

Campfire - sounds about right.

A link to my improperly annealed quarter for comparison pictures.

As you said - looks like a campfire. Look up Black Beauty nickels on this forum and scroll through the thread to see the pics and explanations of identifying them.

On the building on the reverse, I see a hair on the coin. I want to say a mustache hair? (I recognize the curve) A spendable coin.
