Hello Forum

I was hoping you could help me figure out what is going on with this coin. I'm not sure if it was a Grease Filled Die, off center strike, DDD or a combination. Please let me know your what you think.

Looks like an inadequate upset problem. LOTS of 1985-D dimes seem to have the same. The upset mill didn't raise the "proto-rim" as it should have, so the dies were striking a planchet that was too flat. That left areas on the coin that are weak and lack the proper detail.
