The first has a normal reverse but when turned over to the obverse with what should be heads up...., then the next seems to be missing half the coin, obverse missing with zinc core showing and with raised rim still intact.

The first one looks to be struck through a die cap. Really cool error!

The second has the 1973 reverse design, so it shouldn't have a zinc core. Thinking this may just be half of a Magician's coin. Can you get the weight on that one?

Looks like Tanman is on top of it as always! That first one is a super nice struck through die cap showing excellent brockage on the obverse. Effectively a coin got stuck to the obverse die and this coin was then struck through the coin that was stuck to the die. Part of the memorial design was transferred to this coin from the coin that was stuck to the die, which is called brockage.

I also agree that the second one looks very much like half a Magician's coin. The coin gets drilled out, usually to just fit a dime inside it, so that it can be made to look like a penny turned into a dime or whatever trick they are on about.

Yup, that pretty much verifies that the second coin is a Magicians coin. It's still kinda neat but considered damage. The first coin is the big winner.

First coin is a very nice error! Tropicalbats and Tanman hit it on the mark for error attribution. Congrats on a great find!
