Hello All, I'm new to ordering from the US Mint. I ordered 11 of these. Is this quality to be expected from the mint? What type of problems should I overlook and what should I send back? These are only some images. I couldn't even make 1 perfect set. Maybe my expectations were too high. I thought mint proof meant they weren't banged up? lol I'd really like to learn to communicate in your language so if there are technical names for what I am seeing please feel free to be technical. That way I can learn and express myself better when asking a question. Item Number: 21RG, Proof Set 2021 https://catalog.usmint.gov/proof-se...21-21RG.htmlSAN FRANCISCO (S) List of some issues: - Lincolns have brown spots - All nickels all appear to be off-center - Dings - Scratches - Rim damage - Bits of debris inside - Pieces of the cardboard cutout Looking forward to hearing your opinions. Thanks! Edited by 24KTXDarling 03/13/2021 01:03 am

Ok, I'm still learning about errors and damage and stuff like this, But I'll give it a shot.. (Remember I may not be 100% correct)
lets start with the off center nickels - Are all 11 of them off centered the same amount and from the same direction? If so, then that is the design they (mint folks) went for.
Brown stuff - Impurities in the metal? Edge damage - Broken/chipped die? Rim Damage - Maybe the metal did not flow far enough to fill the void created by the dies. Scratches - Flow lines as the metal moved to fill in the design from the die. Lack of proper lubricant on the dies to allow this to happen? Poor details - Well that is a VERY zoomed in view, with a bit of pixilation in the photo, but I do see full band separation across the torch..
Now, lets see how far I'm off...

These things cost way too much over face to be poor quality. Return any or all that have problems you can't handle

Looks like poor QA to me. Maybe I shouldn't look at my sets under magnification now that I've seen yours...

@2Dearborn Yes all of the nickel's look like this but I compared them to the image they released and they don't look like that. I'm curious if other's sets look like this? Here is a photo to the 2021 nickel Link: https://www.usmint.gov/coins/coin-m...coins/nickel

Well the frosting of the cameo hides the bands. (I feel that happens to all of them) On the Business strikes, they will be normal. The frosting is laser etched onto the die. Also laser etches the number for the dies as well. (Not visible) Also able to reverse the enhancement on the cameo, from design to fields.

7 of the 11 also have a strike/bang/scrape off the middle of the Y in Liberty on the back of the Crossing the Delaware. Are we not supposed to look at these under a microscope?

Merclover is right, you do not like return. One thing to know: If it is proof finish do not mean is 70 or perfect. Proof mean the finish and better strike then business and specimen or collector set in US. This do not mean is perfect. Buying price bigger? Yes. Return over the years? Market trends will decide.
Next is your own decision, my point of view.
