I've always loved coins and I'm born and raised in San Diego. What better tattoo to get than one modeled after the San Diego Half dollar?

Can't believe I don't own the coin anymore. I'll soon be posting a WTB ad for one.

Also in the works: getting the images on the reverse of the coin tattooed on the back of my leg. It's the tower and dome at Balboa Park. I live down the street and walk my dog there often.

Good choice, better than the reverse of a shield cent.

The grade of your tattoo looks to be AU. I see some slight signs of wear...

Very nice and well done tatoo!
I have never gotten a One. Even during a crazy blackout weekend on liberty in the US Navy, I managed to deny the ink.
I bet that cost more than my San Diego Half by quite a lot.

Yeah my grandpa was in the Navy for 35 years and he escaped with no ink as well... Guess it just isn't for some people.
Rest in Peace

Amazing result! And a great source coin too! I've been toying with the idea of adapting a coin design into a tat for awhile, probably never will myself, but the idea sure is fun

Yes, not sure of the spelling but it's slang for a Sailor in the Navy .
