Good morning everybody. 5 o'clock in the morning.

Story short. A friend bring a bank roll of 1965 me to check if maybe have a 65 or better. I open, nice coins to be check, but one come out because was silver color. I say another fancy novelty or play coins. Ok I took for him steps so :

Scale: 3.089 gr., in parameters.
Looking with a 20x some parts attract me, so I go further.
I look more close and see is not far from what CONECA say.
But first I ask to open my XRF (loose 3.5$ for the box) which this morning I have to ship out. Sold out for a most better one.
Anyways, I do the test and give me NI and Cu.. According by the molar mass 3.089 and the XRF numbers I calculate the % of alloy. Results surprise: 94.5% Cu and 2.5% Ni. also in the normal coin parameters.
The small microscope give me only 2-3 very small Cu points, not see at 20x.: so I took the medical microscope to look at 8000x or more, and another surprise: the thick of plating is 1.65 microns which is normal for mint. Personally I do not think some novelty company will have those kind of equipment like the mint use.
I mention that I have 1 or 2 dime from mint not polish, same color with this subject. So my need for help is : It is a CONECA 3-O-CW+VIII or Not? and also the other isues on the coin what could be?

JOKE: By the angle I took the photo of the President, seem like a fish eat his ear, maybe was on fishing trip.

good morning silviosi

NOT DDO-003

your picture of LI of LIBERTY does not show the "bar L".

VV shows a bar L under "L" of LIBERTY and the rest of the VV pictures dont help at all.

but Wexler has nice die marker pictureshttps://www.doubleddie.com/777097.html

not one website has all known varieties. so dont forget to use all known websites to attribute a variety.

Thanks, I recognize not to check also the Wexler. I stop to Coneca. Will be nice to have all in one. Maybe in the future. But what you thing about been plated?, meet all the specs. Could be another coin done by an employee? In that time happened a lot, almost here in Canada and I thing also in US? I go to see Wexler now.

Thanks

hello silviosi

i dont have enough knowledge to comment about metal content.

but 94.5% Cu and 25.5% Ni equals 120%?

side note: take the coin out of the 2x2 for better pictures.

On the V.V page the DDO is mentioned on the description line:

Quote:
Description: Medium spread under L of LIBERTY.

All the other images are normal, just that one area is affected. The extra images are for the view of he dies markers that may/may not be listed. So if you had that die in hand, any markers could be compared with your coin from the other images provided.
