I believe that this is a bus token from Iceland. My dad was stationed in Iceland during the Koran war. I have not found any references to this token or seen any on ebay or anywhere on the net so not exactly sure what it is. It is a little bigger than the size of a penny and both sides are identical. So just want to confirm what this actually is. Edited by MrTim 03/16/2021 12:31 pm

At first glance it appears to reflect initials or letters of an acronym--given the periods after the characters. Iceland is typically called ISLAND by locals.
ICE -- International Cucumber Expo (just kidding).

This was in a small box with some other Icelandic coins and a coin bracelet from the late 1940's to early 1950's. Dad said, if I remember correctly, that the guys would put a few of these coins on the tray on the bus and pound their hand on they tray so they would rattle around then all the guys would pile on the bus. This is way to many years ago for me to remember correctly, and dad passed on many years ago. So this is basically all the info that I have. or THINK I have!

Could be a token produced by US military authorities for use by service members stationed on Iceland. Hope we find out--check John1's link.

This token is listed as TC-216211 on tokencatalog.com. It is said to be from Iceland. No information about its use is given.

Well, if it is an acronym, it's not in icelandic. It seems there are no icelandic words beginning with C.

I checked my references and also asked around.
No tokens from Iceland are listed in the Smith World transport token catalog.
In "the fare box" I found only one mention of a transport token from Iceland. This is a listing in a token auction by Rich Hartzog. Mail bid sale ending 7/11/2006. Lot 2831: 900+ world transportation tokens among which: ... Iceland 7 pieces .. No specifications are given.
There exists a catalog of Iceland US Military tokens. Title is: ISLENSKIR HERSTÖÐVAGJALDMIÐLAR (Icelandic territory currency). I do not know the author nor do I have this catalog.
If the tokens is indeed a US military token the abbreviation is likety to be in english. Perhaps Iceland City Express?
Can you please state diameter and metal

Diameter is 20mm. It is not magnetic (tried it) but does not seem to be aluminum either. Looks nickel colored to me.
Hope this helps.
