Is this one coin or two? If it's two, please, one coin per thread. Two confuses things. If you have two coins that look alike, show us ONE and apply would you learn to the other.

The distortion on the 'D' is caused by a damaged mintmint mark punch. It is a normal large date 1974-D. the 1972-D is probably one of the master doubled dies that are common.
