Hi, I appreciate these may not be the most valuable coins but have a great look to them.
I note the discolouration to the right in the head side and bottom left on the other side but wonder about the effect on grading?
My guess was a Fine or a bit better but the colour could bring it down?

Thanks.

I'll say strong EF sharpness but a details coin because of environmental damage.

to the CCF!

Maybe EF on US grading, but only VF on UK grading I suggest. The discolouration is a pity and effects the eye-appeal, but not much on the grade.

Looks as though it may have been treated for verdigris at some point. Don't worry too much about that. I'd grade the obverse Very Fine + and the reverse Very Fine.

Looks like a nice XF to me. Imo, that is not enough discoloration to really lower the grade if any.

The verdigris treatment or enviromental damage around 8 o'clock seems to be done with something abrasive, am I correct?

To essentially echo the others in this thread, the discoloration, if it is simply discoloration, shouldn't really affect the grade, even if it does affect the eye appeal.

However, if the discoloration is actually environmental damage, which it looks like it could be, you would end up with a details grade

Many thanks for the feedback and information. I'm learning alot, and that is the first time I have heard of a details coin so something I can now look into, and the cause of the discolouration.

yup agree with PNW on this it looks very much like an earth found coin extensive environmental damage sadly because it looks a nice coin. Obverse is for me VF/GVF closer to GVF and reverse NVF
