Looks like a lot is going on with this Jefferson, along with a worn out die. I'm not a nickel expert, more in tune with Lincolns, but this is what I see on your coin in my opinion. The letters look to have a combination of Machine Doubling and also what possibly looks like master die doubling on the reverse motto. Definitely shelf like doubling from what I can see on the devices around the rim. The nose I believe is definitely MD where it looks like the working die took a few bounces off of Jefferson's profile creating the added 'noses'. Throw in some Die Deterioration Doubling on this coin (maybe) and it has all the characteristics of, well, a normal nickel. Just my opinion here.
